Livi Machinery has designed an innovative modern poultry farm for a Ugandan farmer, efficiently housing a total of 120,000 birds, split evenly between laying hens and broilers.

The modern poultry farm spans 100×120 meters and includes six identical chicken houses, each measuring 65x10x4 meters. Three houses are designated for 60,000 laying hens, and the other three for 60,000 broilers.

For the laying hens, H-type automated cages are employed, with each cage supporting 160 hens in a 4-tier, 4-door configuration. Each chicken house accommodates 126 cage sets arranged in three rows of 42 sets each. It allow for a maximum capacity of 20,160 hens per house. The entire setup requires 378 cage sets, enabling a maximum of 60,480 laying hens across the three houses. Essential automation includes feeding systems, manure cleaning systems, egg collection systems, and environment control equipment.

Broiler Project of H Type Broiler Cage

The broiler project also uses H-type automated cages, but with a 4-tier, 1-door design, housing 136 birds per cage. Each broiler house holds 162 cage sets, arranged in three rows of 54 sets each, allowing for a maximum of 22,032 broilers per house. The total requirement is 486 sets of cage, supporting up to 66,096 broilers across the three houses. Automatic chicken equipment for feeding, manure cleaning, and environmental control are integral to the setup.

Supporting structures include a manure processing area, where manure is transported directly by automated cleaning belts, an egg storage facility, a feed processing area equipped with a feed mixer, and an office and living area for staff.
